Pingaroo (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is a location-based reminder application operated by ITners Consulting Inc., registered in Canada. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your data when you use the Pingaroo mobile application on iOS and Android.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only the information necessary to provide the app’s core functionality.
a. Information You Provide
You must create an account to use Pingaroo. You can sign up using email and password, Google, or Apple. Depending on the method you choose, we may collect:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number (if you provide it)
- Password (for email sign-up only; stored in hashed form)
If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive basic profile information from that provider (typically name and email) and a unique account identifier needed to authenticate you. We do not receive your Google or Apple password.
b. Location Data
Pingaroo uses location services to:
- Detect when you pass a saved place
- Trigger reminders at the right time
Location access is used only to provide reminders and is not used for tracking, advertising, or profiling.
c. Local App Data
Your lists and reminders may be stored locally on your device using local storage technologies (such as CoreData).
d. Analytics & Diagnostics
We use third-party analytics tools (such as Firebase) to understand app performance and improve stability. These tools may collect:
- App usage events
- Device and crash diagnostics
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Authenticate your account (including via Google or Apple sign-in)
- Provide and operate the app
- Deliver location-based reminders and notifications
- Improve app performance and reliability
- Communicate important service-related messages
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.
3. Third-Party Services
Pingaroo uses trusted third-party services, including:
- Firebase (analytics and app diagnostics)
- Mapping services (Apple Maps / Google Maps)
- Google (Sign in with Google)
- Apple (Sign in with Apple)
These services process data according to their own privacy policies and only as needed to support app functionality.
4. Data Sharing
We do not share your personal data with:
- Advertisers
- Data brokers
- Marketing partners
Your data is used only to operate and improve the app.
5. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.
6. Children’s Privacy
Pingaroo is intended for users aged 13 and older.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
